St. Francis of Assisi established St. Michael’s Lent as forty days of prayer and sacrifice to prepare for the Archangel’s feast day on September 29th. Franciscans have continued to observe it through the centuries, even though it is not well known in the Church today.
Exodus 90 has been pioneering the embrace of St. Michael’s Lent as a rich tradition for men today, imitating both St. Francis and St. Michael, the prince of the heavenly host, whose protection we need more than ever.
This year, beginning on August 12th, Exodus 90 is excited to welcome Fr. Columba Jordan, CFR, to serve as our spiritual guide. He will be leading us in daily reflections on the Book of Daniel, one of the few books that highlights the role of St. Michael as the defender of God’s people.
Fr. Columba will be helping us to understand this mysterious and profound book, while also helping us to follow the footsteps of St. Francis as Christian men today.

“I know so many men who have been blessed and transformed by this program, and so many families who say, ‘Thank God for it.’ It’s had a tremendous impact not only on those who participate, but on the wider Church as well.” – Fr. Columba Jordan, CFR
Fr. Columba has been a Franciscan Friar of the Renewal for over 25 years, joined the community in New York in 2001. A native of Kilcullen, County Kildare, Ireland, he was sent by his order to serve in Northern Ireland, where he worked in Bradford, and also to St Patrick’s Friary in Limerick, Ireland. A popular speaker throughout the world, He hosts the weekly podcast “Little by Little” on Called to More.
Fr. Columba will bring his wisdom and wit to bear on our experience of St. Michael’s Lent this year, for both a profound and enjoyable experience with him.
Please join him starting August 12th on the Exodus app.
To prepare, gather a fraternity of men in your parish and community to honor St. Michael in imitation of St. Francis.
