Exodus 90 Course: Living the Eucharist
We all love receiving gifts, and we keep a wish list of things we’d like and even ask for on occasion. Isn’t it the same with God? We bring him a laundry list of all of our problems, needs, and desires. We could flip this, however, and ask what it is he desires to give us.
At the Last Supper Jesus gives us the greatest gift: “This is my body, which is given for you.” When we receive Jesus’s body we receive his whole self–body, blood, soul, and divinity–and his own union with the Father and Holy Spirit. He gives us his entire humanity and divine being, his infinite fulness that contains every good thing. There is nothing greater than this divine gift!
We can take this infinite gift for granted. If Jesus is pouring out his entire life into us, what does it mean for our lives? How should we live it out?
Exodus will be offering a course, “Living the Eucharist,” focused on answering this question. It aims at strengthening our belief by helping us to live it out. The Eucharist transforms us from the inside out, making us into God’s tabernacle and a source of renewal. It is the solution to problems in the Church and our country, and can guide us every day in living with, in, and through Christ in the world.
The instructor will be Dr. Jared Staudt, Exodus’s Director of Content. Dr. Staudt holds a PhD in systematic theology from Ave Maria University and has taught for the Augustine Institute, University of Mary, St. John Vianney Seminary, and the Institute of Catholic Culture. We will be using one of his books as the course text: How the Eucharist Can Save Civilization (HECSC).
