Sacred Heart of Jesus

Exodus 90 is leading an Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the home on the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart, June 7th.

To prepare for this, we are providing an overview of devotion to the Sacred Heart and the process of the Enthronement.

The main Enthronement Day will be June 7th, but the entire month of June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart and offers us a fitting time for the Enthronement.

Devotion to the Sacred Heart

Jesus pointed us to his human heart in his teaching: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (Matthew 11:28-29).Jesus’s human heart was pierced by a lance on the Cross, opening up a wellspring of mercy for us.

The Son of God, eternally begotten from the Father, became man and assumed a human body and soul, including a human heart, the seat of his love for us.

God loves us not only in his divine nature but also in a human way because the Word has become flesh.

When we return Jesus’s love, we enter into communion with him that expresses a bond of one heart to another.

Jesus, our Lord and God, invites us to enter into the deepest friendship, offering us to become one Body and Spirit with him.

When we look at depictions of his human heart, we are powerfully reminded of Jesus’s infinite love for us that sets his heart on fire.

His love for us is so great that he allows his heart to be pierced for us.

He is heartbroken by our sin but his love draws us back into communion with the Father.

The Church has offered us this devotion to call us into the Lord’s mercy, to make reparation for neglecting Jesus’s love, and to grow in our love for Jesus.

Enthronement of the Sacred Heart in Your Home

One of the ways of honoring Jesus’s Sacred Heart is to enthrone his image within the home.

The image of his heart serves as a constant reminder of his presence and protection over us.

The home has become a battlefield.

The devil seeks to infiltrate through the influence of media, division, and sin.

To counter the enemy’s attacks, we will invite Jesus to reign in our homes, protecting us and inspiring us to do all our actions for his honor and glory.

Jesus opened his heart to us on the Cross, and now we open our hearts and homes to welcome him.

We ask him to dwell with us, bringing us to the fullness of life, joy, and freedom that he offers us.

This Enthronement will serve as a powerful sign and catalyst for our families to stay close always to the Heart of Jesus.

How to Enthrone the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Your Home

Here are the steps to prepare for the Enthronement:

1. Obtain an image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. You can download and print an image here. You can also find many prints and framed images online.

2. Find a prominent place in your home to enthrone the image of the Sacred Heart.

3. Make three days of preparation before the Enthronement (recommended). We will provide reflections and prayers on June 4, 5, and 6, which will also be available afterward.

4. Gather as a family on the day of Enthronement. Hang the image of the Sacred Heart on the wall or place it upon a home altar and pray the Enthronement Ceremony before it.

5. Do something special afterward to celebrate the occasion, such as a family meal, larger gathering, or recreation together.
