We all know the old saying, “new year, new you”. Well, brothers, we’re excited to share “new year, new Exodus”! Maybe it’s been awhile since you’ve opened the app, maybe you’ve always thought that Exodus was just a 90-day thing. With year-round content, aiming at helping you live an uncommon year, and a ton of new features, the Exodus app is better than ever. Here are our top 5 favorites!
1. Brand-New Scriptures & Reflections
For the first time in Exodus’s history, we’ve rewritten the reflections for Exodus 90 AND they’re available in audio form! During the first 44-days of Exodus 90, we’ll read the Book of Exodus and journey out of the slavery of Egypt and out into the desert. But the story doesn’t end there. The Israelites must colonize their Promised Land under the leadership of Joshua. We’ll read the Book of Joshua from Ash Wednesday through the first four weeks of Lent. From there, we’ll pivot one final time into the Gospel of Matthew for the last two weeks of Lent, also known as Passiontide. Jesus himself is the new Joshua who leads us into the life of sonship with God.
2. Weekly Conversations with Fr. Boniface
Join our 2024 spiritual guide, Fr. Boniface Hicks, for weekly video conversations on the three pillars of Exodus: prayer, asceticism, and fraternity. Fr. Boniface will lean into the art of accompaniment, walking shoulder-to-shoulder with you, and your brothers, in charity and vulnerability.
3. The Community Tab
Brotherhood is the heart of Exodus. The new Community Tab allows you to start and find groups of fraternities near you! You can chat with multiple fraternities in your area, post prayer intentions, announcements and more! With more functionality coming, this is one of the biggest developments in our app to date.
4. Fraternity Chat Enhancements
In addition to being encrypted for your privacy and security, the Exodus app now also includes modern chat features including the ability to share and view photos, Push Notifications, Emoji Reactions, and Chat Info Messages (like when someone joins the group, updates the group chat’s name, etc.). Jump in and check on your brothers!
5. The Check-in Feature
Speaking of “checking in”, the new check-in feature allows you do just that with a single tap. Red, yellow, or green . . . check-in’s can feel awkward; reach out when you see someone is red. You can type some notes with your check-in to let your fraternity know what’s going on and how they can pray for you, and it’s up to you whether those are private or shared. The daily check-in facilitates the conversation to deeper accountability.
