What is Exodus 90 and Why should I do it?

Exodus 90 is a ninety-day spiritual exercise for men based on Christ’s roadmap to freedom: prayer, asceticism, and fraternity.

Exodus 90 is a ninety-day spiritual exercise for men based on Christ’s roadmap to freedom: prayer, asceticism, and fraternity. Men who desire to grow in the spiritual life and gain greater freedom call together a fraternity of 5-7 men to join them in following a set structure of prayer, asceticism, and fraternity for 90 days. During this time they will be led by daily readings from the book of Exodus, paired with daily reflections, to keep them on the road to freedom.

Exodus 90 is a spiritual exercise that not only promises men greater freedom but delivers it. Over 90% of men who have gone through Exodus 90 say they have experienced greater freedom because of it. And though 90 days proves to be enough to aid men in gaining greater freedom, it is not enough to defend it for life; it is only the beginning. To gain a life of freedom we must continue to follow Christ’s model and roadmap; we must continue to live a life of prayer, asceticism, and fraternity. The Biblical Series is ready to aid you and your fraternity in this venture upon your completion of Exodus 90. But for now, let’s keep our eyes on step one, gathering a fraternity and getting ready for Day 1 of Exodus 90.

Why should a man do Exodus 90?

Every man comes to Exodus for a different reason. But the common thread is a desire for greater freedom. Most men are deeply motivated to become better husbands for their wives and fathers for their children or priests for the Church, so desperately in need of renewal.

When we look to the Book of Exodus, we see in the Israelites a powerful image for men today. The Israelites are enslaved not because they are weak, but because they are strong and growing. As a result, the Pharaoh fears them and their taskmasters oppress them further. This is so similar to men today, who are so full of potential and power, that the Devil enslaves them to sin and worldly distractions out of fear for what they might do if they responded to God’s high calling.

To answer the question more directly, a man should sign up to embrace his calling to become the spiritual leader in his home that God has called him to be and that his spouse and children desire in their heart of hearts.

The roadmap to freedom—the roadmap to life—is here set before you. It’s a hard road, no doubt, and only a few will take it up. Christ knows that, but he has called you to it. He has set before you a choice: freedom or slavery, life or death. By choosing to walk this road, you are choosing to take up the roadmap to freedom. You are choosing life. Right now, and every day from this point forward, look to the cross. Jesus Christ, the Great Liberator, is alive and present, and he is ready to lead you to freedom.

Follow him.
